Azam and Mukesh
Profile Page of Azam and Mukesh
MyBand: When and how you have started your Band ?
Mukesh : We had a four member band in college, which didn’t have any name. After we graduated, only Azam, Yogesh and I stuck together to share our dream of making songs as big as our imagination and energy level
MyBand: Who are your team members ?
Response: Azam and Mukesh consists of Azam and Mukesh as composers, lyricists and we usually feature singers according to the need of the song. Presently the songs have been sung by Azam, Debashish, Shashank and Charu.
Charu and Yogesh write the lyrics.
Yogesh is very soon going to publish his collection of poems.
MyBand: How old were you when you knew you could compose ?
Response: We composed our first song within months of coming together in 2002 during our engineering days.
MyBand: Who encouraged you to compose?
Response : Basically, we just could not find the songs we wanted to listen to from the present bands and composers. So we took the initiative to make the songs which are rich in lyrics as well as melody with a lot of crunch.
MyBand: Which singer in Indian music do you admire most?
Response : Although we don’t believe in boundaries, singers from India which we really admire are Sunidhi Chauhan, K K, apart from the maestros of the 70’s and the 80’s. And we we think that Ali Azmat from Junoon is one of the best lead singers of the sub continent , not to forget Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
MyBand: What is your favorite track, Indian or International
Azam : Raina beeti jaaye is an all time fav. Mahiwal by Junoon. And layla by Eric Clapton, Smoke on the water to name a few. Also crazy train by ozzy osbourne
Mukesh: beeti na beetai raina from parichay, Mahiwal and Ghoom by Junoon
MyBand: Which genre of Music you prefer most ?
Response : It depends upon the lyrics of the song. That’s the fun of making your own music.
MyBand: Who is your favourite Rock Icon ?
Response : Oasis for their innovative tunes, KISS for their visual extravaganza and business acumen, Junoon for their finesse
MyBand: Which Musical instrument touches you the most ?
Azam : That would be the guitar in any form and sound.
Mukesh : I play drums so I like a big jazz set. Apart from that we both love the haunting sound of a cello which we are planning to use very soon in one of our songs.
MyBand: What is running currently in your iPod or CD Player ?
Azam: Ronde naina by junoon, Hey there Delilah by plain white tees
Mukesh: I am right now listening to my songs and trying to find where can we improve.
MyBand: What would you like to achieve as a singer (or musician)
Response : To make songs which should stop people in their way and command attention
MyBand: How do you rate your song or music ?
Response : Since our songs are part of our souls we do cherish every and every one of them but yes we are very critical of our own work and lets just say that we are yet to make our best song and we are working towards it.
MyBand: What gives you kick in your work ?
Response: The very fact of making songs which we like.
