All it took was a Kolkatta cat to give birth to The Civil Cats – a band that draws inspiration for their music from mundane magic – be it dogs, fruit or homeopathy. While guitarist Tejas Menon has always been musically inclined, vocalist Harendra Kapur bases his musical talent on a healthy appreciation for music and sheer determination. Two weeks of Kolkatta, milkshakes and recordings led to the bands first album “The Sun Goes Around The Earth Once In A Year”, the title inspired by graffiti artist KC Paul. The album consists of seven original tracks and two covers. The band is currently at work on their second album, “Dogma.”
