Syncopation - The Band

Syncopation plays an eclectic mix of Modern Jazz blended with elements of bebop, swing and funk

The music is centered around soulful melodies with modern funky grooves leading into a frenzied yet unique improvisation. Their repertoire consists of original music - which projects the band’s attitude and approach to Jazz as the evolving art form that it is

The songs are written and arranged by the band collectively. Constantly rediscovering the boundaries of jazz they share the common idea that music is dynamic and ever-evolving

The band consists of Rishi Sachdeva, Sahil Warsi and Nikhil Vasudevan. In the past year, Syncopation has given over 50 performances at a various exclusive events like The Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week 2012, National Polo Championship, the launch of famous designer Ravi Bajaj's new store etc

Rishi Sachdev

Rishi has spent a great deal of his time developing his unique sound and style of music. He initiated himself into the tradition of academic music at the Northern Melbourne Institute, Australia. Creating newer ways and sounds to express himself, his energy and vibe flows through the music which he calls - Syncopation

Sahil Warsi

Apart from being an excellent musician, Sahil is also India's youngest double bass player. Despite his age, his contribution to the band's music shows sparks of depth and maturtiy. Sahil has played with a variety of bands covering deifferent genres before joining Syncopation

Nikhil Vasudevan

Along with the beats, Nikhil also adds versatility to the band's music. From high energy funk to delicate jazz, Nikhil has managed to flawlessly set the mood for the ever evolving music that Syncopation makes. Though he plays for a number of bands, Nikhil puts his heart and soul into the very element of Syncopation
