Mahua Mukherjee

Born and brought up in an atmosphere reveling in music and rhythm, Mahua Mukherjee inherits the art of singing under the tutelage of the renowned artist Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty , and smt Girija Devi.The Indian Classical( khayal and thumri ) were innately developed in Mahua, It is no wonder therefore that while successfully crossing the academic milestone one after other, being an post Graduate (1st class) and grade artist of AIR Mahua   has been winning  the youth festival at hyd(1999),behalf of Rabindra bharati University.

Mahua has  gifted with a very strong and melodious voice which is perfectly suited for the Khayal and Thumri style of hindustani music. Her soulful rendition of the Ragas has kept the audience mesmerized and has won her many appreciations and accolades. She also performs the more lighter forms of Hindustani music like thumri, dadra,kajri, chaiti, tappa and also bhajans, Ghazals with equal grace and perfection.

Mahua participated in  many TV shows, such as Etv ,DD-1,SKY-B,zee  tv,Tara muzik.

Mahua performed in various prestigious programmes including “Bharotio Nadonik Parishod” which is state government organizetion.Most notably, she is a regular performer  of ALL INDIA RADIO.She got “sangeet pravakar” and “sangeet visharad” award from prachin kala Kendra.                                               

Recently Mahua sing classical and light classical music for a

“RAINBOW GROUP” has given performance and workshop on Indian classical music at SWITZERLAND, FRANCE, ITALI, GERMANY, and GENEVA.

Mahua Mukherjee is a dedicated young vocalist committed to the art of Indian Classical Music.
